One of my favorite things to do in foreign countries is to go grocery shopping. It's always an adventure to find different products than I'm used to and check out the local produce!

In Amsterdam, the big chain grocery store is Albert Heinj. One cool thing they have implemented is a DIY scanning system.

You grab a scanner, and as you pick things up and put them into your card, you scan them onto a card. When you're done shopping, just scan your card and pay. Done!
